68 | ASIA Miner | Volume 13 • Issue 4 | 2016 Supplier News MICROMINE has implemented its fleet management and mine con- trol solution Pitram at a large Mongolian copper mine operated by Erdenet Mining Corporation (EMC) . MICROMINE provides intuitive software solutions to the global exploration and mining industry . The implementation of Pitram on EMC's hauling fleet, included the integration to Belaz payload and fuel management systems, along with Carlson Software Machine Guidance (HPGPS) across their drills and loading equipment . MICROMINE's chief operations officer Michael Layng says, "This is the first deployment of the Pitram Machine Guidance Solution utilising Carlson technology in the world . Pitram will improve opera- tions by providing advanced fleet management capabilities, includ- ing optimisation of truck assignments, tight control of fuel usage and vehicle speed restrictions, and high precision machine guidance . " He says the integration between Pitram and Carlson technology provides a seamless experience for the operator with both machine guidance and fleet management functionalities visible on the same screen at the same time . Equipment operators are able to perform activities such as drilling, excavation and loading more precisely, ensuring the mine's objectives are achieved more efficiently. EMC has been using MICROMINE software since 2011 . Add- ing Pitram to existing Micromine and Geobank technologies on site provides integration from exploration and mine design through to production, allowing for increased operational management in real time and tightly controlled delivery of ore to the mill . MICROMINE says Pitram is a proven system for the management, control and process improvement of mining operations . It is used to record data related to equipment, personnel, locations and materi- als data, providing an overall view of mine status, thereby increasing control and efficiency. Pitram's analytical tools help mine controllers and engineers identify operational constraints, improve the utilisa- tion of resources and increase production . It says Pitram makes development and production more efficient and safe by providing miners with real time information on equip- ment, ore and personnel thereby facilitating faster and smarter de- cision-making . EMC was originally established in 1973 as a joint venture between the governments of Mongolia and the former Soviet Union . It is one of the biggest mining and processing facilities in Asia, annually pro- cessing 26 million tonnes of ore to produce 530,000 tonnes of cop- per concentrate and 4500 tonnes of molybdenum concentrates . Mongolian mine implements Pitram OVER the past few years, operational pres- sure and power density in hydraulic sys- tems have increased significantly, which in turn has increased the susceptibility to wear and premature failures . This is why the quality of hydraulic oil has an ever-increas- ing effect on the service life and reliability of hydraulic systems . Lubricant specialist LIQUI MOLY under- stands this and in developing its HyPER hydraulic oils has subjected them to the toughest test - the Bosch Rexroth RDE 90235 test . All tested oils mastered the process with flying colours and are among very few in the world that fulfil the highest standard . The pump test introduced by Bosch Rex- roth in 2015 goes far beyond that which current DIN and ISO standards require . The problem with these standards is that they do not keep up with technical devel- opments that have taken place in hydraulic systems over the past few years . RDE 90235 is a scientifically standardised test procedure which checks the behaviour of the lubricants as well as the interplay in the key hydraulic pump and motor compo- nents under realistic working conditions - a test scenario completely oriented in prac- tice . Conventional tests work with 350 bar while the new standard uses up to 500 bar . The previous approvals by Bosch Rexroth lose their validity and are replaced by the RDE 90235 . There's no getting around oils with the new approval for machines with Bosch Rexroth hydraulics . The HyPER hydraulic oil series by LIQUI MOLY comprises only oils that fulfil the high- est valid standard . These lubricants contrib- ute towards a longer service life of the hy- draulic components because, for example, they reduce wear to the nonferrous metals and nitrate layer of pistons and bores . At the same time, they increase operational safety and minimise the risk of breakdowns . Their improved seal compatibility minimis- es unsealed points of hose connections . Even the number of burst hoses is signifi- cantly reduced . Compared with conventional hydraulic oils, HyPER hydraulic oils generally allow change intervals that are twice as long . This leads to the significantly higher quality oil not simply offering significantly more technical benefits, but also being better-priced than conventional hydraulic oils . HyPER hydraulic oils can be used in all stationary and mobile machines that require a HLP hydraulic oil . Alongside the Bosch Rexroth RDE 90235 approval, the lubri- cants fulfil or exceed the following specifi- cations: Parker Denison HF-0, HF-1, HF-2; Eaton E-FDGN-TB002-E; Eaton Brochure 03-401-2010; Fives-Cincinnati P-68, P-69, P-70; and DIN 51524-2 HLP .
