RCS 5 is the next evoluঞonary step toward fully autonomous mining. RCS 5 provides the next step for the mining industry from the automaঞon program that brought autonomous drilling into a sustainable reality. Features such as Machine-to-Machine Communicaঞon, sharing real ঞme drill plan updates between drills, Auto Tower Angle and Integrated Camera View advanced awareness are some of the early features introduced. Whether operaঞng from a remote locaঞon or on-board the drill, the new and improved RCS 5 intuiঞve main menu creates a user-friendly experience that ulঞmately increases producঞvity. This new design allows the operator to focus on the task-at-hand and switch seamlessly between screens in a well- organised and dynamic environment. RCS 5 with the new funcঞon Drill Plan Generator (DPG) allows for creaঞng and ediঞng drill plans on-board the rig or from a remote locaঞon quickly and easily. The new Drilling Data Screen in RCS5 features real ঞme depth and penetraঞon rate feedback with histogram for easy in-hole monitoring. "We're excited to conঞnue our automaঞon journey, pushing the limits in sustainable producঞvity. Launching the RCS 5 plaorm will allow our customers and partners to further advance their operaঞons, saving valuable ঞme and dollars while increasing predictability and safety with either on board or autonomous operaঞons," says Tyler Berens, Product Line Manager, Automaঞon at Epiroc Drilling Soluঞons. "Autonomous operaঞons began with RCS 4, wait unঞl you see where we take it with RCS 5." Epiroc is a leading global producঞvity partner for the mining and infrastructure industries. With cuমng- edge technology, Epiroc develops and produces innovaঞve, safe and sustainable drill rigs, rock excavaঞon and construcঞon equipment and tools. The company also provides world-class service and soluঞons for automaঞon and interoperability. Epiroc is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Epiroc introduces the next generation of the Rig Control System for Pit Viper blasthole drilling rigs Autonomous Pit Vipers A pioneer in the field of water management, Belleaqua develops green management systems for industrial corporaঞons such as logisঞcs companies, as well as for local authoriঞes and private households. To ensure that its soluঞons are not only reliable but also simple and convenient for customers to use, Belleaqua relies on remote monitoring and automaঞon soluঞons from Siemens. The technology used is able to detect fault statuses, control the flow of wastewater, reduce repair costs and cut downঞmes to a minimum by means of conঞnuous monitoring. Belleaqua is breaking new ground in the field of water management. The company produces secure water tanks and management soluঞons designed to meet the Cerঞpro cerঞficaঞon requirements of the Flemish organisaঞon Vito (Vision on a Technology for a Beer World). "We had the first cerঞficates on the Belgian market for a concrete wastewater system," recalls Belleaqua founder Jean- Pierre Depauw. One reason for the system's success was that it provided a complete one-stop soluঞon from a single supplier, all the way from manufacturing to installaঞon. At the heart of the water management soluঞon is a LOGO! 8 programmable logic controller (PLC) from Siemens. "Before we came across LOGO! 8, we used a controller from a different manufacturer," recalls Mr Depauw. "But it simply didn't offer either the reliability we required or sufficient scope." LOGO! 8 opens up wide-ranging possibiliঞes such as the early detecঞon of faults and the provision of informaঞon on water quality. The logic module recognises fault levels which indicate how serious the problem is, and independently determines whether a technician should be assigned for repairs. LOGO! 8 also controls aeraঞon of the tanks to opঞmise the growth of naturally occurring microorganisms. These important microorganisms are used by Belleaqua to break down wastewater contaminants. Belleaqua is highly appreciaঞve of the improvements made possible by LOGO! 8 and the LOGO! CMR2020 communicaঞon module. The PLC it uses is ideally suited for remote monitoring, and its partnership with Siemens has also been highly beneficial. If problems arise, Siemens experts are available to Belleaqua with help and advice. Green water management using automation technology from Siemens Siemens' LOGO! 8 programmable logic controller
