This process will be exacerbated by Vietnam's population boom and rapid urbanisation. The country had more than 90 million people in 2015 and al- though it has huge mineral and natural resources, dealing with these pressures has resulted in development of a Power Master Plan and a Mining Strategy for the period until 2030. These plans focus on the following purposes: • Developing a sustainable national energy and mining industry; • Diversifying and securing energy and resource supplies; • Refning and downstream processing of minerals; and • Addressing political and environmental pressures to drive eco- nomic returns to the nation. To accomplish these aims, Vietnam is seeking to increase pro- duction of its deeper anthracite reserves with high quality grade as well as expanding its coal-fred power sector. This brings many opportunities for local and international technology, equipment and service suppliers in terms of: • Coal supply including power generation, steel production and other industry applications; • METS provisions across the supply chain to local and interna- tional mining players; • Mining education and training, e.g. sustainable mining, mine safety, environmental management and mineral processing; and • Import/export infrastructure capabilities (deep water coal sea- ports, intermediary coal terminals and land transportation). Bridge for international suppliers As a part of the mining event series organised by Allworld Exhibition Al- liances, which includes Mining Indonesia, Mining Mongolia and Mining Myanmar, Mining Vietnam is considered one of the most trusted events for the mining industry in Vietnam and Indochina. This biennial event will be back from March 29 to 31, 2016, at the International Centre for Exhibition (ICE), Cultural Palace Complex, Hanoi, Vietnam. Mining Vietnam has been supported by Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (VINACOMIN) and industry players from its launch in 2012 until now as the event has become the most effective business bridge for international suppliers with latest technologies and equipment to reach and engage with the local and regional industry. In the previous edition in 2014, Mining Vietnam successfully gathered 169 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions throughout the world. There were international pavilions from Australia, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and the UK. The total number of trade attendees reached 3581 from Vietnam and other countries with 91% of visitors stating in a survey that they were satisfed with the exhibition and 98% confrmed that they would be back at Mining Vietnam in 2016. Singapore Exhibition Services' Vietnam Representative Offce deputy chief Mr BT Tee said: "From its launch in 2012, this event has effectively served the Vietnamese mining industry. It has at- tracted technology suppliers such as Bobcat, Feluwa Pumpen, Joy Global, JSC Mining Machines, Köppern Maschinenfabrik GmbH, Komatsu, Professional LLC, Rieckermann, Siemag Tecberg GmbH, Tru-Trac Rollers, Weir, RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz GmbH u. Co. KG. It has also included international pavilions from Australia, Czech Republic, Poland and a few others. "The event has been graced by key buyers and mine operators in the region - COALIMEX, Ha Giang Mineral Mechanics JSC, Khe Cham Coal, Nui Phao Mining, PETROVIETNAM, Thai Nguyen Iron And Steel (TISCO), Total Vietnam Limited, Viet Mineral Exploitation and Processing, VIETNAMCHEMTECH and many subsidiaries from VINACOMIN. "We anticipate 6 international group pavilion representations in the show's 3 rd edition and two supplementary conferences organized by The ASIA Miner and MESLAB (Multi Engineering Services)." Singapore Exhibition Services is part of the Allworld Alliance Ser- vices group, the organisers of Mining Vietnam. Mining Vietnam 2016 is co-located with Building & Construction Vietnam 2016 as both events share a common earthmoving need. The co-location serves to increase the visibility of exhibitors to both industries to increase exhibition participation success and to im- prove the market reach of the event in general. Mining in Vietnam offers great opportunities Mining Vietnam 2016 - The 3rd International Mining and Minerals Recovery Exhibition and Conference - promises to gather hundreds of local and international technology, equipment and service suppliers to support the mining industry in South East Asia.
